Video Game LoFi: Super Mario 64 - 88bit and Save Point (1xLP Vinyl Record)

88bit and Save Point take Koji Kondo’s Super Mario 64 soundtrack apart and rebuild it as a piano-led tribute. Warm analog synths sit under the piano, and the melodies return re-harmonized over lo-fi beats with a jazzy undertone. Curaga Records issues the album on a single LP for Nintendo soundtrack collectors and lo-fi listeners.

The record carries 11 tracks from Super Mario 64, starting with Opening, File Select, and Inside the Castle Walls. Dire Dire Docks sits at track 7, Koopa’s Road and Bowser’s Theme follow at 9 and 10, and Staff Roll closes the record at 11. The duo built the arrangements on Prophet 5 and Novation Peak analog synthesizers, with live piano, guitar, and percussion on every track.
