Ghibli Jazz 2 (LP Yellow)

Ghibli Jazz 2 collects 12 jazz arrangements of Studio Ghibli themes from the Japanese three-piece All That Jazz. Studio Ghibli commissioned the group to rework its soundtracks in jazz, and this is the second record from that project. Nine Ghibli films feed the tracklist, from Castle in the Sky to Tales from Earthsea.

The record opens with The Path of Wind from My Neighbor Totoro, then The Legend Of Ashitaka from The Princess Mononoke and One Summer’s Day from Spirited Away. Yukiko Kuwahara sings over the piano, bass and drums core, with complementary instruments filling out the arrangements. Yellow colored vinyl carries all 12 tracks.
